“And he [Jesus] said to them, ‘The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; pray therefore the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.” Luke 10:2
When I go to Sunday Mass and I see barely any young adults or teenagers, my heart aches.
If only I had a way to show these fellow young adults and teenagers how Christ loves them so much as to give himself to them, one on one, and entirely at the Mass!
If only I had a way to show the true beauty of the teachings of the Church, even the hardest to accept for members of our generation. (“Really, God just cares for the human heart. Period!”, I would say.)
But then I remember: Jesus meets individuals on a journey – an encounter – that every person with a conversion or “re-version” must walk and experience – alone.
When I go to daily Mass and I am the only person under the age of 75, I gotta remind myself:
That hey, my few young adult and teenager friends who really love Jesus, his Church, and his teachings in a 110% kind of way are starting some real change!
Yes, Jesus wasn’t really a “strength in numbers” kind of guy anyway. It was Him, His Father, the Holy Spirit, Mama Mary, and twelve normal men
A “new spring time of the Church” is emerging because the laborers who are staying are stronger than ever about wanting the harvest to be abundant! We are the game changers in the Church today.
